Sugar vs. Artificial Sweeteners

There’s alot of controversy regarding artificial sweeteners. I constant read and hear, “They cause this or they cause that”.

For diabetics, the less sugar we use the better.  Personally, I prefer Splenda or Equal over Sweet n Low.  Just my personal preference. 

What do you use?  What do you prefer?  Do you use different artificial sweeteners for different things?  For example, perhaps you use Equal in coffee, but Splenda to bake with.  Share your ideas here…

I took the liberty of finding a conversion chart of Sugar to Splenda ratios for usage including baking.  This was found on www.Splenda.com

 

 

SPLENDA® Packets

  • 2 tsp sugar = 1 packet
  • 1 tbsp sugar = 1 1/2 packets
  • 1/8 cup sugar = 3 packets
  • 1/4 cup sugar = 6 packets
  • 1/3 cup sugar = 8 packets
  • 1/2 cup sugar = 12 packets
  • 2/3 cup sugar = 16 packets
  • 3/4 cup sugar = 18 packets
  • 1 cup sugar = 24 packets

Please give us your input!  What do you use and prefer??
